Noah’s Ark Cobham Close

The Royal Celebration

On the eve of the Royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Noah’s Ark Nursery, Cobham Close decided to have a Royal Celebration. The children arrived either dressed as a prince or princess or in union jack colours red, white and blue. The teachers were also wearing red, white and blue and the nursery was decorated with bunting and union jack flags, the atmosphere was very festive. The children were free to wander in a freeflow mode between the classes where activities ranged from making crowns and tiaras using gems, glitter and pom poms to painting in union jack colours. There was also designing the bride’s dress and colouring in a royal cake, every activity linked to the Royal wedding. At snack time there was a special treat as cooking was preparing a royal feast made up of finger sandwiches with a choice of fillings of smoked salmon, cream cheese and cucumber, the children happily buttered their sandwiches and chose their fillings and as they tucked into a very royal snack time you could hear lots of chattering about princesses, weddings and the Queen! The parents were also involved as each class had been given a cake made by one of the parents based on a cake recipe of victoria sponges, strawberries and cream. The parents did a marvellous job each cake was superb and thoroughly enjoyed by the children. I am sure that in years to come the children will remember what a lovely morning they had at nursery to celebrate a very special and significant Royal Wedding!
